COAL RESERVES

The property is located in the Southern Central Appalachian coal region. Local topography consists mainly of narrow ridges and V-shaped valleys with steep slopes. Local relief is about 1,600 feet with a maximum elevation on the property of about 2,700 feet above sea level.

The coal on the property is high grade bituminous coal characterized by high BTU (12,500+) and generally low sulfur (<1 to 2.5) seams. The property has been utilized in the past as a source for thermal, industrial, and high-grade carbon-ferra silica markets. The property consists of eight formations of mineable coal varying in thickness from 1.5 feet to -5.0 feet. The higher quality formations exhibit compliance sulfur, 1-3% inherent ash and positive trace elements for the specialty markets. Overall mining logistics for surface, auger, highwall mining and underground operations are geologically and environmentally positive as a whole.

There are an estimated 200 million tons of coal (includes approximately 44mt undiscovered) on the eight Ketchen tracts, available through surface and deep mining activities. A significant amount of the reserves are found in the coveted Blue Gem and Rich Mountain seams yielding high quality metallurgical coal.
